About the security control itself

In Turkey, there are two obligatory security checks, the first at the terminal entry and the second before passport control and the gate area. To help speed up the process at security check points, your cooperation during searches will be greatly appreciated.

You can help us by:

• Not rushing through the check points
• Placing all metal objects in the plastic trays provided (including mobile phones, computers, cameras, keys, coins, etc.)
• Taking off your coat
• Removing belts at the security check points
• Removing your child from the stroller and folding up the stroller so that it can, where possible, be subjected to x-ray control
• Going through the check point one at a time

Once you have placed all items on the x-ray conveyor belt, you may proceed through the metal detector. Click here to see exceptions for pregnant women, wheelchair user and people with cardiac pacemaker and implanted metallic joint replacements.

If you refuse to cooperate with the screening process at any stage, you will not be permitted to pass through the screening point and to board the aircraft.
